About this conversion
AVIF produces very small files thanks to the AV1 video codec it's built on, but plenty of image editors, older devices, and some upload forms still don't recognize it. Converting to JPG trades some file size for near-universal compatibility.
This tool decodes the AVIF using your browser's built-in image decoder, draws it to a canvas, and re-encodes it as JPEG. AVIF decoding is broadly supported in current versions of Chrome, Firefox, Edge, and Safari; very old browser versions may not be able to open the file at all, in which case you'll see a clear error rather than a blank result.

Why isn't my AVIF file loading?
AVIF decoding needs a reasonably current browser. If yours can't open the file, you'll see a clear error message — try updating your browser or use a different device.
What happens to transparency in my AVIF file?
It's filled with white, since JPG has no alpha channel. Convert to PNG instead if you need to keep transparency.
Is there a file size or file count limit?
Each file must be under 25MB, and you can convert up to 40 files in one batch, since processing happens in your browser's memory rather than on a server.
